Nicole Appleton, the wife of former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, who allegedly fathered a love child with a music journalist seven months ago, is reportedly distraught following finding out about the affair when everyone else did.
Appleton’s mother, Mary, has spoken to the Sunday People and revealed Gallagher only told her about the affair the day before it hit the media.
Nicole has been in Florida with her sisters on vacation while Gallagher is in Ibiza for a music festival. They have reportedly not spoken since he told her, and he is said to want a divorce.
“Liam says he's had enough of it all - he's sick of the drama and doesn't think his marriage is worth fighting for any more,” said a source, Daily Mail reports.
But Mary told the Sunday People, “He phoned her the day before it came out in the paper here to tell her... Nat was telling me that when he called and told her, Nikki went down on her knees and said, 'It's Liam, it's Liam.' Nat knew what she meant because they had been talking about it.”
“I just feel bad for her. She didn't deserve this. But I'm not going to speculate whether they'll stay together it's early days,” she added.
"That was the first Nicole heard of it. There was absolutely no indication it was coming. She’s absolutely devastated. He’s known about it all along and didn’t tell her a thing, that’s what is most upsetting to us. She found out when everyone else did. She knew nothing about the journalist, she had no inclination. Nicole is in bits. They haven’t spoken since he called her and told her what had happened the day before it was in the papers.”
