Despite a shoulder injury, Mariah Carey performed the New York Philharmonic at the Major League Baseball All-Star Charity Concert in New York on Saturday, which benefits Hurricane Sandy relief.
As we previously reported, Carey dislocated her shoulder and was subsequently rushed to the hospital last Sunday night while shooting a music video for her “Beautiful” remix.
Her husband, Nick Cannon, then went on the Today Show last week and revealed it was more “serious” than that, she had also cracked a rib and bruised her shoulder bone.
But the show went on as scheduled on Saturday, USA Today notes, sling and all. The concert was free for those who attended.
Carey wore a white Natalia Danilova gown during the performance and accessorized her sling in white fur by Gucci. "Is this working? Do we like it?" she asked the crowd to roaring applause.
"I'm not in the best of health here," she said after showing up a few minutes late. After an outfit change she also told the crowd she was in a "tiny bit of pain." She wrapped the successful concert with her hit “Hero.”
