Meredith Vieira is prepping to launch her own syndicated daytime talk show slated for fall 2014.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Meredith Vieira Show will be produced and released by NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution with Vieira acting as executive producer.
NBC Broadcasting Chairman Ted Herbert confirmed the former Today show correspondents role all the while gushing about the upcoming project. “All of us at NBCU are so excited about this new show with Meredith…She creates an instant connection with audiences with her smart, quick-witted and down-to-earth style. This entertaining and substantive show will be a great way to reach her loyal daytime fans as well as new ones who will discover why Meredith is one of America's most loved television personalities."
The Meredith Vieira Show will be taped on the same set as Today and The View and will feature Vieira’s home photos and furniture, The Wrap notes.
Vieira released her own statement following the news of her show saying, “Each day, I hope to accomplish what I call the three H's: Heat, Heart and Humor. And speaking of the heart, I want to thank my husband, Richard, and kids, Ben, Gabe and Lily for strongly encouraging me to take this incredible opportunity ... or else they really just want to get me out of the house."
Vieira will move on from her role as host of Who Wants to be a Millionaire when her daytime show kicks off. She will be replaced by Cedric the Entertainer.
