The residents of the New Jersey town are making it clear they’re not happy that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley are going to start filming their new reality show because they have now hired a lawyer to fight it.
The production company behind the show, 495 Productions, has reportedly secured a filming permit to film in Pelican Bay.
According to New Jersey 101.5, it might turn ugly. Ronald Gasiorowski, a land use lawyer, said that he has been hired by residents to sue Berkeley Township and MTV so they can’t film there.
“They are seeking to turn this house into a movie production studio. It’s not someone who is living in this house as a resident, or having a summer vacation there. They’re taking this house and they’re converting it into a commercial use,” he told the township Council.
The residents are most upset with Mike Loudy, the owner of the home that might be used for filming, Tom’s River Patch reports.
“The biggest thing we're offended about is that one of our own Pelican Island residents would sell us out,” said Sue Kosakowski, a resident that lives on the same street as the home.
Snooki has since responded, writing on Instagram with a snapshot of a news story on the matter, “Unable how adults are trying to ban my son, fiancé and I from enjoying our summer at the shore. Grow up, get over yourself and move on. This is not how we should be treating one another. Absolutely sick and very sad. I pray for you. There's much bigger things to worry about in life than trying to ban my family from your neighborhood.”
