Pierce Brosnan, 60-year-old screen star, returned to work Tuesday after the heartrending loss of his daughter from ovarian cancer. His daughter, Charlotte Brosnan, was 41 years old when she lost her battle to cancer on June 28th.
Since May, Brosnan has been on set in Belgrade, Serbia for his upcoming film November Man, a spy thriller set to hit theaters in 2014. According to People, he left the set last week to be with his family in London on Charlotte’s final days.
In 1991, Brosnan lost his wife and Charlotte’s mother, Cassandra Harris, to the same disease. The disease, which runs in the family, also killed Harris’ mother.
As stated by NewYorkDailyNews, Brosnan shared his feelings with fans.
“My darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer," Brosnan said. "Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."
