Actor Pierce Brosnan’s daughter, Charlotte, has passed away of ovarian cancer at the age of 41. She leaves a husband, Alex Smith, and two kids; Isabella, 14, and Lucas, 8.
Charlotte has been battling cancer for the last three years, and in a statement, Brosnan, 60, said she was surrounded by her family when she passed.
"Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl,” he told People in a statement. “We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."
Cassandra Harris, Charlotte’s mother, who was still married to Brosnan at the time, also died to ovarian cancer in 1990. Her mother was also taken from it when she was a teen.
The BBC reports that Brosnan adopted Charlotte and her brother, Chris, when their biological father died in 1986.
