Pippa Middleton, sister to the expecting Duchess of Cambridge, is threatening legal action against London-based Icon Books for creating the parody Twitter account @Pippatips.
The account, which has over 52,000 followers, offers obvious facts in sarcastic tones seemingly poking fun at the royal sisters intelligence level following the publication of her book, Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends.
“#PippaTip: Britons; save time by not bothering to watch weather forecasts & simply assuming it's going to be cold & overcast all the time,” reads one post from June14, the last registered post. Another tip reads, “#PippaTip: headache tablets can be a great in helping deal with a headache.”
According to New York Daily News, Pippa finds the account less than humorous.
A threatening letter was sent to Icon Books from Pippa’s legal team demanding that the account, created by Mat Morrisroe and Suzanne Azzopardi, be taken down. NY Daily news notes that Morrisroe and Azzopardi have created their own parody book, similar to that of the account, entitled When One Is Expecting: A Posh Person's Guide To Pregnancy And Parenting. The book is also published by Icon Books.
Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends offers similar, obvious advice. Pippa’s actual advice in the book reads: “Make your celebration as elaborate or as low-key as you like,” while another reads, “I don’t think there’s a right way or a wrong way to celebrate.”
