Backlash from the George Zimmerman trial continues to pour in, and this time from someone highly respected in the entertainment business.

The Wire creator, David Simon, took to his blog to voice his displeasure with the not guilty verdict in the case. According to Yahoo, Simon states that he is “Ashamed to be an American” on his blog.

Simon was not alone in his displeasure with the case, as rapper Questlove also took to his blog to voice his discomfort with the verdict. Zap2it has posted a condensed version of Questlove’s blog post online in which he states

“I don't know how to not internalize the overall message this whole Trayvon case has taught me:

You ain't sh**.

That's the lesson I took from this case.

You ain't sh**.

These words are deep because these are words I've heard my whole life: I heard from adults in my childhood that I needed to be "about something" other than all that banging and clanging and music I play all the time.”

After reading Twitter and Facebook posts it is known that they are not alone in their feelings. We can only hope this case is not one that sets our country back. The country has made tremendous gain. Make America proud!
