Rihanna is suing a popular UK clothing company called Topshop for using her image on one of their shirts without her permission.

Huffington Post reported that the popstar is accusing the company for trying to pass off the t-shirt as being approved by Rihanna herself.

According to BBC, Topshop believes they did nothing wrong. They retaliated against Rihanna’s accusations, stating that despite Rihanna’s claims that the image is “damaging her reputation,” it has not stopped Rihanna’s entourage from calling Topshop to ask them for products for Rihanna to wear.

The image was taken by a photographer without Rihanna’s permission and it was the photographer whom the clothing company bought the image from. Topshop apparently had obtained the necessary copyright license by buying the photograph from the original photographer. The t-shirt was originally titled the “Rihanna Tank,” which was later changed to “Headscarf Girl Tank” and then to “Icon Tank.”

While the Topshop drama has been going down, Rihanna has been keeping her fans updated on her life through her Instagram.
