Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones are reportedly leaving the acclaimed NBC comedy Parks and Recreation in the middle of season six.

The news was first reported by BuzzFeed this afternoon. Sources also confirmed the news to TV Line.

Jones has played Ann Perkins, the best friend of Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope since the show’s first episode, having been drawn into Pawnee politics when she tried to fill in a hole across the street from her house. Lowe plays Chris Traeger, who came to Pawnee in season two to help with the fictional Indiana town’s budget crisis.

It’s expected that their final episode will be the 13th of the new season. Season five ended with the two trying to have a baby together, even though they are not a couple.

Jones currently has a development deal with Warner Bros. TV and is starring in Cuban Fury with Chris O’Dowd. Lowe will also be seen this fall in NatGeo’s Killing Kennedy.

Reps for the actors and the network have not commented on the news yet.

Parks & Rec’s season six premiere airs on Sept. 26. The hour-long special was filmed on location in London.
