Glee creator Ryan Murphy is speaking out following the death of Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the hit series since 2009.

Speaking out to several outlets, Murphy expressed his own heartache following the 31-year-old actors untimely death and the plans of Monteith’s character come next season,TMZ reports.

"It’s always sad and shocking when somebody so young dies, but one of the things that made it even more upsetting is that so many of us who knew and loved him were actively involved in trying to get him better," Murphy states.

Monteith, who died of Heroin overdose last week, came to Murphy saying, “"I want to get better."

In addition to dealing with the loss of a great actor, Murphy along with Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuck had to decide how they would address the death of Finn when the series returns this fall. Currently the show has been delayed following his death.

Murphy explained that his death will be addressed in the third episode when the series returns.
