No one is better suited to host a new unscripted television show which puts contestants against each other 24/7 across TV and online, other than Hollywood big shot Ryan Seacrest.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Seacrest is in the process of securing a deal to both host Million Second Quiz along with executive producing the show. Seacrest would be emceeing shows on three of the four big broadcast networks, in addition to producing three shows on the E! network.

Sources say that the challenging aspect of finalizing the deal is that according to the way the show works – which is that the show runs for 12 days beginning September 9 with only one night off for Sunday Night Football – Seacrest will need to have his schedule cleared up for that 12-day period. Along with running Clear Channel’s radio program “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” he also needs to travel in the fall to tape auditions for American Idol.

Million Second Quiz will broadcast the show in primetime live from Manhattan in an hourglass-shaped structure served as the living quarters for the players. Taking place over 12 days and 12 nights, the players have to play 24 hours a day in order to avoid getting eliminated. As the 1 million seconds run out, champions face off against each other, and the winner takes home up to $10 million.

Seacrest has a two-year deal with NBC, which he made in spring 2012, so adding him to host the unique competition show is most likely to happen.
