Recently Selena Gomez celebrated her 21st birthday with a simple shot of Jack Daniels and a dinner out with some close girl friends. But the starlet has plans to celebrate with a gypsy-themed party.

The “Come and Get It” star explained that she loves the Hindu religion and loves learning about it, reports US Magazine. She claims that the religion has helped her in all aspects of her life, including her musical career as shown by her performances of her hit single “Come and Get It” at this year’s MTV Movie Awards.

The starlet did receive some hate from the Universal Society of Hinduism for wearing a bindi during her MTV Movie Awards performance and demanded an apology from her according to Huffington post. But Gomez did argue back that the song had a “Hindi feel to it” and she wanted to translate that into her performance.

Gomez doesn’t seem to be bothered by the controversy of her appreciation for the religion and culture. Her gypsy-themed party is Hindu inspired. The girls will be wearing “really cute little fun skirts and really cute little tops and rings."

Gomez explains that at 21 years-old she just wants to enjoy life and experience it and that she’s enjoying balancing both.
