Steve Martin dropped his wallet on a bike ride and it was returned by a good Samaritan, he revealed on Twitter.
The actor/musician/comedian was in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania for a performance at F.M. Kirby Center on Public Square on Tuesday night. He performed with Edie Brickell and Steep Canyon Rangers.
The man who returned the wallet has not been identified, but the venue’s programming director, Will Beekman, told The Times Leader he thought the man was joking when he called in to report the missing wallet.
“Honesty survives in Wilkes-Barre,” Martin said in a statement. “The gentleman couldn’t have been sweeter, nicer, kinder, and his Batman-like rescue of my wallet is one more reason to remember Wilkes-Barre.”
He also called him an “honest man” on Twitter:
An honest man is found in Wilkes-Barre! Thank you, sir! RT @CBSPittsburgh: Stranger comes to the aid of comedian and returns his wallet!

As a token of his appreciation, Martin gave the unidentified man $100 for returning the missing wallet.
