There were rumors over the weekend that American Pie star Tara Reid had been cut from the sequel to Sharknado, the cheesy SyFy movie she starred in earlier this month. But the actress went to Twitter to deny the reports, noting that a script hasn’t even been written yet.

Reid was reportedly not going to be involved in Sharknado 2 since producers decided that Ian Ziering would be the only actor returning. TMZ’s source claimed that producers held a meeting this past week and decided they wouldn’t need her back to play Ziering’s estranged wife.

However, just after that report was published, Reid took to Twitter to debunk it. “There is no script for sharknado 2 until i read it then i will make a decision but everyone that is saying i got cut that is not true#liars,” she wrote.

She then retweeted fans who showed their support, including one who wrote “Sharknado 2 without Tara Reid is like chinese food without the fortune cookie.”

The Asylum, which produced the film, also tweeted, “For the record, @TaraReid is awesome and was great to work with in #SHARKNADO. We'd be lucky to have her back for the sequel. That is all!”

Sharkado sequel was announced just a few days after the original airing, which drew over 1.3 million viewers and inspired plenty of hilarious tweets. SyFy is hosting a Twitter contest to name the sequel, which will be set in New York and will air sometime next year.

The most we can learn from this incident is that The Asylum actually writes scripts for these movies. Who knew?
