Grammy Award winning artist Taylor Swift showed of her generous side during a visit to a Pennsylvania Italian restaurant on July 19 tipping the waiter a reported $500 and giving tickets to some of her fans in the kitchen.
Swift alongside Austin Mahone and Ed Sheeran dined at Ralph’s Italian Restaurant in Philadelphia where they were greeted by several of die-hard Swifties. The “You Belong With Me” singer posed with several of the employees, including chef Shawn Gallo, whose autistic son loves the blue-eyed starlet, E! News reports.
"I called my mom to tell her Swift was there, and she wanted me to take a picture because she is a big fan," Gallo explained. “My son has autism, and while I'm at work my mom and my son love to listen to her music. He loves her music!" Swift gave Gallo two tickets to her concert for the following night.
“It was so kind-hearted of her," he gueshed. "My son Shawnee is 11. It was my son and I's first concert we've ever been to! It was really special."
After dinning on $800 worth of Italian food, Swift left the waiter a generous $500 tip.
Unfortunately for other Swift fans, a meet-and-greet contest was pulled after it became clear that the results were compromised. Taylor Swift’s Biggest FanContest was put on by KISS 108 FM in Boston was hacked by a group named 4chan in order to help a 39-year-old man named Charles win, Earsucker reports.
On the message boards, an anonymous person wrote, “My creepy 39-year-old friend named Charles would like to crush all those girls’ dreams (and then sniff Taylor Swift’s hair cos he’s into that) by winning this instead. Help him crush the dreams of these girls and give him a chance to make a complete ass of himself by blatantly just sniffing her hair with the cameras rolling.”
The station opted to pull the contest explaining the reason in a statement on their website, “Disappointingly, we have determined that the integrity of the "Taylor Swift's Biggest Fan" contest has been compromised. In accordance with our contest rules, effective immediately, the contest has been terminated. We apologize to all of our loyal listeners who have participated.”
