Every episode of The Challenge is much anticipated because there is always the possibility of a twist, a fight, or even some good laughs.
This week featured all the above and did not disappoint.
Week two of the show started off with a water balloon prank played by Johnny bananas along with C.T. and others which is interesting in its own right because Johnny and C.T. had an argument last week.
C.T. again was a central figure to this episode as he is always involved in one way or another. Frank and C.T. got into it early on, in the first of two fights involving C.T. this week. The fight with Frank seemed to be over nothing. Frank was being nosy and asking questions about C.T.'s sex life, and it led to some chest bumping and face-to-face talking and resulted in nothing more than C.T.'s shirt ripping, Frank crying and Johnny worrying about his partner breaking already within the first week.
Coming into the week we were all excited to see who Cooke's new partner would be, after Naomi left to attend to a family matter. The announcement was a dud though as Cara Maria was announced, and crickets were heard. The silence could attributed to Cara Maria not being well-liked by people in the house, and the fact that she is a great competitor, much stronger than Naomi, and is partners with Cooke who is also a greta competitor.
This week might have been one of the most comical in challenge history as C.T. was up to his old tricks, and the second challenge of the season was filled with sexual innuendo's. In this challenge, called XXX games, teams were forced to first be connected by a saw, which was between their legs, and thrust back and forth to cut through a piece of wood. After that portion was completed it became even more sexual. One partner held the other upside-down so that their partners head was between their legs and vice versa. They then had to go through an obstacle course at the end of which the upright partner needed to get the ball with their mouths, drop it on the sand to their other partner who then had to spit it into a tube.
Since this week was a girls week, many of the guys didn't take this particular challenge too seriously, including Wes who quit immediately. Knight and Preston won the first part of the challenge, which gave them a five second head-start for portion number two, until Preston surprisingly quit. Zach and Trey ended up eventually winning the challenge, again, and one thousand dollars on the guys side. After the challenge was over, host TJ Lavin announced that Wes and Preston's teams would both suffer penalties in the next challenge for disqualifying themselves. Suffering penalties for quitting has never happened before on the challenge.
On the women's side Jonna and Nany won the first leg of the competition but had trouble standing up in the second portion, which opened the door for Emily and Paula to win their second straight challenge and be safe from the jungle. Rookies Jessica and Anastasia were the last pair to complete the challenge and got a ticket straight to the jungle. The men deliberated and decided that Jessica and Ana's competition in the jungle would be new team Cooke and Cara Maria. Before Cara Maria could even unpack her bags she was headed to the jungle.
After the challenge Anastasia, who is clearly clueless, caught word of the previous relationship between C.T. and Diem, and that made her go crazy. She was saying all sorts of bad things about C.T. and slapped him several times over Knight (who seemed like C.T.'s personal bodyguard this week). C.T. egged it on the whole time and never seemed to really feel threatened, while Ana made a fool out of herself. At the end of the "fight" C.T. said "this is the first fight I've ever lost on the challenge, and I didn't picture it like this", which added to the comedy of this episode.
Jessica had to calm down Anastasia after the tussle, as they were headed to the jungle to fight for their challenge lives. The time in the jungle wasn't without shocking happenings either. The jungle had each team hanging upside-down, and they needed to use tiny saws to cut through a very thick rope. When the team cuts through their rope their opponents fall in the water. Whatever teams hit the water would be eliminated from the challenge. Right as the challenge was set to start Anastasia had a panic attack and seemed like she wouldn't be able to compete. She eventually got water and was able to go, but since it took so long Cooke decided she couldn't wait to pee anymore so she peed in her pants, then into the water she could possibly be dumped into, in front of everyone.
When the jungle finally began, it seemed to be pretty tightly contested but Cooke and Cara Maria pulled it out. Anastasia came out of the water and seemed even more dizzy than before the jungle, she left the paramedics, and Jessica was sent off as well. Cooke and Cara Maria seem like a team to be reckoned with on the girls side, as they are strong, and now angry.
This episode of the challenge ended with the romance that is brewing between Jordan and Sarah, but not much foreshadowing with that, just the fact that they were hooking up, which could come into play later on in the season.
Through one full cycle of eliminations, and two episodes, a guy pair, and a girl pair have been eliminated and the action has been outstanding. Usually the challenge provides drama, hook ups, and twists, but this week a new quality was added to the shows repertoire, comedy. This week provided good laughs, a couple fights, a twist, and some new romances. Next week, and every week going forward, it is fair to expect more of the same.
