Look out JLo, the latest Latina female singer inspired by Jennifer Lopez, Becky G has been announced the newest face of CoverGirl Cosmetics.
Becky G, known for her hit single, Becky from the Block, has been named the latest CoverGirl ambassador thanks to her hip and unique sense of style. The 16-year-old plans to bring a taste of her personal street style to the beauty brand’s cosmetic line.
“I think it’s really cool that CoverGirl is giving me this opportunity to inspire other girls to work it, own it, love it no matter what you’re like or where you’re from because that’s what being beautiful is all about,” Becky said in a press release reports Hollywood Life.
The stylish beauty is a makeup fanatic herself.
“Even when I’m in sweatpants if I have makeup on, I feel like I can rock the world,” Becky said.
CoverGirl believes that Becky G embodies everything that the company stands for. Hoping to inspire young women, CoverGirl attempts to pick ambassadors that will be positive and powerful role models.
“Becky G is such a relatable and powerful role model, who, from a very young age, has advocated individualism and paying respect to where you come from and where you want to go,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP, General Manager of CoverGirl.
The popular cosmetic company describes Becky as a smart, motivated and strong willed role model.
Becky has just finished her first CoverGirl photo shoot, and her photos will be appearing on TV and in magazines this summer. For now, the company has covered their Facebook account with teaser photos of Becky as CoverGirl ambassador.
