TLC has set out to enlighten the American people on a wide variety of subjects, from making pastries to the world of infant beauty pageants. But an upcoming show will be teaching us all about a man with one huge problem - he has the largest scrotum in the world.
The Man With the 132 lb. Scrotum will be the very descriptive title for the show, so you’ll never actually have to hit that “info” button on your remote. The title tells you everything you need to know about the show, but of course TLC has provided us more info.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show will focus on Wesley Warren Jr., a 49-year-old Las Vegas man who has “scrotal lymphedema,” a rare condition that has provided him with incredible daily challenges, like just getting around. He actually wears a hoodie to cover up his scrotum in public.
“Wes’s life as he deals with day-to-day challenges that are easy for most people. Due to the large size of his scrotum, Wes has difficulty with simple tasks like walking, preparing meals and even going to the restroom,” the network said in a statement.
Wes said that he wasn’t born with this condition - it just started out of the blue with intense pains in 2008. “Afterward, the tissue around his testicles began to swell and grew bigger ever since. It’s estimated that they were growing at an alarming rate of at least 3 lbs per month,” the network said. The special will focus on how Warren manages to lead his life with the condition and how he tries to raise money to get surgery.
According to The Orlando Sentinel, urologist Dr. Joel Gelman of the University of California will perform the surgery, which could save Warren's life.
The special airs on Aug. 19.
