I thought that tonight's episode of America's Got Talent took a step backwards as far as show quality. It seemed as though half of the episode focused on bad acts that didn’t make it through. We were forced to fit through the rap styling’s of a former male stripper in his sixties, a plunger thrower (seriously), an instrument maker (who, luckily, didn’t make it through, unlike last season), and a puppet act involving a giant rat eating a young boy. Meanwhile, wonderful acts were cut short and left unnamed. Because of the time spent focusing on bad acts, we missed out parts of the acts of on an extreme break-dancer and sword swallower, and a woman who managed to fly above the audience doing tricks while attached to a giant floating bubble. Those were the acts that I wanted to see, and it made me sad that I only got to see a few seconds of each. But anyways, enough of my ranting. Here were what I thought were the top ten acts from last nights episode of America’s Got Talent!

10. Al Harris

An entire act made out of puns. I liked it, I don’t know what everyone else was going on about. For once I actually agree with Howie: I would’ve liked to see this guy again.

9. Captain Explosion

I don’t even know what happened with this act… I didn’t really like it very much, but I still thought it was strange that he didn’t make it through. Those kinds of acts usually get a straight pass on to Vegas.

8. Jim Meskimen

He was a pretty good celebrity impressionist. He’ll need good material if he’s going to go far, though, and that’s often a struggle for impressionists.

7. Tummy Talk

These guys were just plain weird, but you can’t deny that they were entertaining. Plus, Nick Cannon once again showed us that he’s one of the best hosts on television by stripping on stage and letting Tummy Talk play percussion with his stomach.

6. Chloe Channel

Can she even handle the recoil that comes when you shoot a gun? She seems so little, I feel like it would just knock her backwards a few feet. She sounded wonderful though. She had nice stage presence as well.

5. 212 Green

I get a lot more excited about bands on this show than I do about singers. I feel like they’re more exciting on stage. I liked the attitude and the sound of this band, and I hope they do well.

4. Yasha and Daniela

They don’t have quite the same hard lines and precision dance moves as the kids from the Untouchables, but they were still very good.

3. Jimmy Rose

Howard always talks about acts that people fast forward through, and to be honest, I fast forward through most of the singers. They all sound similar to me, and I feel like I’ve heard it all before. Jimmy had a lot of heart though, and I liked listening to him, even though I’m not normally a fan of country music.

2. Aerial Ice

It was cool that they brought an ice rink (well plastic) to the stage, along with the aerial silks. I think this group could do a lot on a Vegas stage, and they were definitely something I’d never seen before.

1. SensEtion

I love when people combine technology and dance. I couldn’t look away. I didn’t understand how Heidi got bored during that when I (and the audience, it seemed) found it so fascinating. I’m so glad the other judges said yes, it would have been a shame if these guys didn’t go through.
