Being a celebrity might not be as easy as it looks. Always being followed by paparazzi, having every eye watching you, and not having much of a private life can be pretty stressful and exhausting. Many celebs have gone through a down-hill spiral that has caused them to lose their reputation, money, jobs, and endorsements. The most recent celeb to do so is none other than Lindsay Lohan. She’s been in and out of rehab, hasn’t been in a fender bender recently, but is known for them, and has been suffering with substance abuse. 10. Martha Stewart

The cooking and home décor maven is synonymous for her skills in the kitchen and decorating any room flawlessly. She built an empire of her matriarch skills. She had her own catering business, cookbooks, appeared in dozens of magazine columns, and had many TV stints. In 2003, things took an ugly turn when she was indicted of fraud and obstruction of justice. She had to serve a five-month prison sentence and a 2-year- supervised parole. When she came out of jail, she had a highly publicized comeback. She returned to daytime TV with The Martha Stewart Show, wrote best selling cook books, and launched a line of cooking and house wear that is beyond successful. She really worked hard to gain back her brand.

9. Aaron Carter

The teen heartthrob and singer rose to fame after the release of his album, “Aaron’s party, come get it.” He quickly went platinum and sold out concerts. But his life went a little down-hill when he sued his manager for fraud and entered rehab for addiction problem after he was arrested for possession of Marijuana. Now, after staying out of the limelight for a while, Carter is gaining back his fame and fortune. He recently kicked off his first tour in eight years, the “After Party Tour.”

8. Chris Brown

Chris Brown is one the biggest recording artist in the music industry today. Worth millions, his fame and fortune took a toll after he pleaded guilty to felony assault of his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. He was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service in 2009. Plotting a comeback quickly and quietly, he gained success with the release of his fourth studio album, F.A.M.E. Fans seemed to overlook his charges and the album debuted on the Billboard 200 charts. He also won his first Grammy. However, Chris has to keep working hard and proving that he made a mistake and has changed.

7. Michael Vick

He was the quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons before he was indicted on dog fighting charges and sent to jail. He lost it all. His fortune, reputation, sponsors and endorsements were all gone. But when he got out of jail, the Philadelphia Eagles gave him a second chance to prove himself. USA Today reported that The Eagles signed him to a two-year contract, worth 6.8 million. He once had a $130 million deal with the Falcons that was the NFL's richest. After that he was remarkable. Vick kept working hard, never gave up, gained backed endorsements, and is still a stellar player on the field today.

Not many people remember when Drew Barrymore had her battle with substance abuse. Not many people even know of it. This is why she lands our number six spot. Barrymore had a lot of success as a child star when she starred in “E.T. The Extra Terrestrial.” However, with her child-star success, she had a tumultuous beginning and battled with drug addiction. She even had two stints in rehab before she was 16. In later years, she overcame her terrible habits to become one of Hollywood's most beloved actresses.

5. Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin’s career came to a standstill when voice mails to his daughter were released to the public. He had been fighting a huge custody battle when, according to The Daily Mail he called his daughter “a rude, thoughtless little pig.” He later went on to say, “You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being. I don't give a damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned…”
A string of threats to his daughter, Ireland, landed him in the hot seat. He became so hated by the public and his image was destroyed. Now, he has come back. Landing the roles in “30 Rock,” “It’s Complicated,” and other Hollywood films, he shed his bad image. He apologized to his daughter and the public for the released voice mails and quickly got his career back on track.

Growing up in the limelight definitely isn’t easy due to lack of privacy. The adopted daughter of Lionel Richie has fame thrust upon her at a young age. She starred in a hit reality TV show, “The Simple Life,” alongside her then best friend Paris Hilton. She was the center of tabloids when there were many pictures of her surfacing where she was seen drinking and doing drugs. At one point, she even lost a worrisome amount of weight. After being arrested for heroin possession and a DUI, she went to rehab and quickly cleaned up her act. Now, she is a loving mother of two, successful business woman, and fashion designer. She has her own clothing line and is an author. Recently, she starred as mentor on NBC’s “Fashion Star”.

2. Robert Downey Jr.

Yet another celeb to have an amazing comeback and here’s why he landed our number two spot. He had a five year battle with substance abuse, alcohol, arrests, and rehab stints. It was reported that he had been addicted to drugs since the age of eight by his father who was hooked on drugs and gave them to him. Since then, he’s had extreme success with his “Iron Man” franchise and his role in “Tropic Thunder.” Definitely, one of the biggest comebacks of any Hollywood actor.

No one can forget when the queen of pop music herself had a severe downfall, when her marriage to Kevin Federline started failing. After just having given birth to her two boys, Britney went into crazy mode. She made headlines worldwide by shaving her head, taking an umbrella and punching it into a car window, and also hanging out with party girls, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. She was even pictured panty-less in a short dress, coming back from a club with the two girls. After a heavy custody battle, run ins with the law, and some time in rehab, Britney grew out of her erratic behavior. She gained back her image and success with the hit albums Circus and Femme Fatale. Spears also starred as a judge on the second season of X-Factor, where her mentee, Carly Rose Sonenclar came in second in the competition. Fans have completely forgiven her for her puerile acts and she seems to be doing well. Her two sons, of whom she now has full-custody, appeared in her new music video, “Ooh La La.”
