Johnny Depp is well known for being in Tim Burton movies with Helena Bonham Carter and for going the extra mile with each of his characters,with over the top actions and expressions. He has odne so many roles, it was little hard to narrow it down. Lone Ranger is out today, and Depp is yet another one of his signature type characters this time as Tonto. This movie was based on the true story of George Yung and how cocaine became such a big money maker in America. Depp does a brilliant job at capturing the difficulties, the ups and downs to the character.
5. Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd)
Playing a man who was set up and imprisoned, Depp comes back with a vengeance in this movie along side Helena Bonham Carter. The duo provide and eery comedy musical while covering up murder after murder.
4. John Dillinger (Public Enemies)
Based on a the true story of the notorious bank robber, Public Enemies is an enthralling movie, and Johnny Depp's rendition of John Dillinger is just another plus.
3. The Mad Hatter (Alice in Wonderland)
This character was very similar to Willy Wonka in that Depp wore heavy make up and yet again played up the crazy for the role. That being said, you expect this for a character called the Mad Hatter.
2. Edward Scissorhands (Edward Scissorhands)
One of Johnny Depp's earlier roles, Edward is definitely one that stands out. Equipped with deathly scissors for hands, Edward is taken in by a family and has to battle fitting in and being called a freak by the neighborhood.
