When watching television, there is always the main character and then the main character's best friend. While some of the right-hand man or woman are just background people, some have a more major role in the series. These writers make sure characters are always paired with another just as powerful person in order to create an interesting dynamic and storyline. Without the dynamic, there would be no show. Whether the pairing is the best friend, love interest, or nemesis, there is always memorable pairing between characters. Here is a short top 10 list of the best television friendship duos.
10. Bert and Ernie (Sesame Street)
This two pair have been living together since the beginning of Sesame Street in the ‘70s. Despite having opposite personalities, the two reflect the real-life friendships of the original performers Frank Oz and Jim Henson.
9. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (Sherlock)
The first detective pair in literary references before reaching the screens, Sherlock and Watson work as a perfect team solving crimes. Complimentary personalities, as Holmes is good with solving mysteries, Watson is the people person.

What would you do if you found out you had a twin? For these teen twins, they turned out to be best friends as they go through high school and college together.
7. Pam Beesly and Jim Halpert (The Office)

Despite Ron not wanting to admit he is friends with his co-workers, Leslie and him have an interesting dynamic as both a friend-friend relationship and a protective father-daughter relationship. He did walk her down the aisle.
