Am I the only one who feels like Howie should be working for a Get out the Vote organization during the next presidential election? That man knows how to bug people into voting. After every single act, he just sounds like a broken record: “If America wants you to move on, they have to vote! You can’t just sit back and expect things to work out the way you want, you have to go out and vote for it to happen!” I’m telling you, all he has to do is get in with the people at the Get Out the Vote organization, and he would be able to seriously increase voter turnout in the next election. But anyways, on a more relevant note, yesterday was the first night of the live shows of America’s Got Talent. Because there are only twelve acts during each live show, I’m only going to be ranking the top five instead of the top ten. Don’t agree with my choices? Talk about it in the comments below!
5. Anna Christine
She has a beautiful voice, and she’s definitely captivating. I’m not sure this is a year for singers, but I think that if someone could do it, it would be her. She shouldn’t have admitted her mistake. I wouldn’t have noticed it otherwise.
4. American Hitmen
Howie always talks about how he is confused that a band has never made it far on America’s Got Talent, but I think it’s because they all make similar mistakes. They try to change it up by singing a song that goes completely against their image, and then they fall through the cracks. I didn’t agree with Heidi about their song choice, I thought it was perfect. I think that these guys will stay true to their rock-and-roll image, and that will take them far in this competition.
3. Branden James
I liked that he changed it up, and didn’t sing an opera song this time. I don’t usually fall in love with the singers, but I found myself tearing up during his performance. It was beautiful.
2. Kristef Brothers
I think that some people might not realize how ridiculously talented these two are because of the comedy that they put into their act. Every time they come on stage, their outfits and demeanor makes it seem like their act should be a joke, but it turns out to be beautiful and amazing. I really like this about them—I’m always surprised by what they do, and I feel like they provide entertainment on all levels.
1. Collins Key
From what I’ve seen, he seems to be a shoe-in for the semi-finals, and I can’t wait to see him again. I think that his magic is amazing, and I think that he did a great job tonight making his magic on a bigger scale.
