I found tonight a little bit underwhelming. I always wonder how they group the acts for the live shows, because I feel like some nights are packed full of talent, while other nights are lacking. Tonight felt lacking in talent, and I’m not sure that the acts that make it through will really be on par with the others. Still, there were some very impressive acts, including Forte, who continue to improve with every performance, and Alexandr Magala, who had my heart beating ridiculously fast with his extremely dangerous tricks. Still, there were also duds, including expected ones, like Tone the Chief Rocca’s horrible attempt at a one-hit-wonder, which did not deserve a place in the Top 48, and unexpected ones, like Marty Brown, an amazing singer who got swallowed by Radio City Music Hall’s stage, and Angela Hoover, an impressionist who failed to impress. But despite the duds, here are what I thought were the top five acts from the second live show on America’s Got Talent. Don’t agree with my choices? Talk about it in the comments below!

5. Innovative Force

They seemed like a very intense cheerleading squad. I thought they really upped the stakes on their act, and they definitely filled up the stage. Still, it didn’t really seem like they did enough to live up to all of the other danger or dance acts.

4. Aquanuts

I think it will be interesting to see whether or not they make it through. I enjoyed their performance, and I thought that they were very talented. However, I’m not sure people realize how difficult it is to do what they do, and I’m just not sure people will appreciate it. Also, I have no idea how their heels stay on in the water, but I’m definitely impressed by it.

3. Ciana Pelekai

I did agree that she seemed to get swallowed up a bit by the stage, but her voice certainly didn’t. I thought she did very well, and she has the strong type of voice that is needed to fill up a place as big as Radio City Music Hall.

2. Alexandr Magala

I feel like he got very nervous, and wasn’t used to how slippery the stage was. He seemed to slip a few times, but I still thought he did very well. I hope he moves on, because even with the few mistakes, he deserves it.

1. Forte

I agree that the act seemed slightly overdramatic, but I think that that is just the nature of opera. It’s not a bad thing; it’s just how it is. I still really enjoyed their performance, and I think that they will make it far in this competition.
