All the Wrong Reasons, one of Cory Monteith’s last projects before his untimely death, will premiere at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this September.
Monteith plays James Asher, a big box department store manager, with a wife suffering from PTSD, reports Wetpaint. The dramatic role is a stark contrast to his relatively lighthearted role on Glee.
The film was directed by Canadian Gia Milani and stars Emily Hampshire, Kevin Zegers, and Karine Vanasse, according to the Hollywood Reporter. It will make the film festival rounds and premiere in Canadian theaters later this year.
It was Monteith’s second-to-last film, followed by an action film titled McCanick, before he died of a drug overdose at age 31 on July 13.
TIFF also scored Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, a much-anticipated biopic about the earlier years of Nelson Mandela’s struggle against apartheid, according to the Toronto Star. Though only trailers have been released, it has been surrounded by Oscar buzz for a possible Best Actor nod.
