The Big Bang Theory is a sitcom based in Pasadena, California. The television show opens with two nerdy physicists, Leonard and Sheldon (Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons), meeting their new neighbor Penny (Kaley Cuoco) who Leonard immediately becomes smitten with. Most of the story takes place in Leonard and Sheldon’s apartment or at their place of work, Caltech, where their friends mechanical engineer Howard Wolowitz(Simon Helberg) and astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappali(Kunal Nayyar) also work.
Throughout the show, we watch as Penny tries to teach these four nerdy guys about life outside of comic books and action figures. This group of five seem like an unlikely group of friends, but they all love each other and manage to put up with each other’s quirks, whether is Raj’s inability to talk to women unless drunk or Sheldon’s stubbornness or inability to understand anybody’s needs but his own. Penny manages to teach the guys more about life and even aids them in relationships.
Currently in the show, Howard is married to Bernadette (Melissa Rauch), a coworker of Penny and also a fellow scientist, while Sheldon is in a long term relationship with Amy (Mayim Bialik). Leonard is in an on-again/off-again relationship with Penny while Raj is still searching for love. However, Somehow Raj can finally talk to women sober so maybe that will open up the doors for his love life.
