On this week’s episode, Jo admitted that she loved Danny, Danny and Lacey made out and Karen got a job.
The episode began with the soccer coach giving a pep talk. Danny was switched from forward to defense. His soccer buddy, Cole, gets to be forward. They seemed happy with their trades and all way good. Danny was fitting in.
Archie says something stupid to Danny and insults him in front of Lacey. Lacey stands up for Danny and Archie walks away looking like a jerk.
Meanwhile, Jo is having a sitting on her bed being grounded. Danny sneaks in and wonders what is wrong. Then he takes off shirt, kisses her and Jo realizes it is a dream. It seemed like the whole thing was just to let the viewers see Danny’s hot-body (not complaining) but it seemed odd.
Real Danny is actually with his mother. They are talking about the necklace. She says that she’s sorry she threw out the necklace and that she believes that he is innocent.
When Danny arrives to school, the coach tells the team that Cole had severe food poisoning. Archie points out that Danny saw him last. And the team assumes that Danny is a murderer and a food-poisoner.
Lacey arrives to school and is talking to her popular friends about Regina’s love life. Sarita says that they agreed not to talk about Regina anymore. Lacey stopped the conversation awkwardly. But, can we all agree that Sarita is the worst. She isn’t one of those mean girls that are kind of funny. She’s just mean and inappropriate.
Not surprising, Jo admits to Rico that she has a crush on Danny. Rico tells her that, to get over the crush, she needs to stop thinking about Danny. I agree. In this episode, Jo seemed a bit on the creepy side. She was more obsessed than crushing.
Lacey and Jo meet at their old tree house. They discuss how they need to tell Danny about his father. They also decide that they are tired of Danny hiding secrets. Jo tells Lacey that she needs to ask Danny. And she agrees.
When Lacey meets up with Danny, he thinks that she wants to talk about their kiss at fall fest. He tells her that it is all he thinks about. She says no. He says that she likes him too. She says no again. And they walk away.
At the police station, Kyle (continuing his running as the worst cop ever) is making all of the officers on the investigation of Regina’s murder look in the lake for the necklace. The officer said that they’ve looked for days and it hasn’t shown up. So, instead of looking somewhere else, he continues to follow a lead from one kid. If you were wondering, Kyle’s Bad Cop Moment score of the episode is only one point.
The coach calls Danny into his office and holds up a bag of mothballs. He said that he found the bag in the locker room trashcan and that they can cause people to get sick. The coach said that he wouldn’t tell anyone and that Danny just needed to quit.
Danny pleaded to stay on the team and that he was innocent. He told him that he was being framed. He didn’t do it!
Even though I think he killed Regina and his aunt, I do not think Danny poisoned his teammate. Plus, who leaves the mothballs in the trashcan? That’s like murdering someone and keeping their necklace in your living room chair. (Oh wait…)
Jo and Danny get invited to a party for Phoebe’s brother. The brother is interested in dating Jo. He says that Lacey was going. Danny said that he and Jo would go. The party was simply drinking at a cemetery for his birthday.
Kyle purposely tracks down Karen and sits next to her at the diner. They small talk about Jo loving pie. At first Karen blows him off but she warms up and compliments his marriage and says that she was jealous of it. She also tells Kyle that she had a job interview that went poorly.
At the cemetery, Jo and Danny show up making the crowd of kids silent. None of them want them there. Sarita even mentioned that Regina invited Danny and now she’s dead. Danny ignores them and simply drinks a beer.
Lacey tells Jo that she will sneak away in 20 minutes to talk to Danny about the secrets he is hiding.
The soccer team talks to Danny about Cole getting sick and Danny said that he quit the team for personal reasons. The team seems confused. And probably a little upset that they were going to lose one of their best players.
As Lacey finally approaches Danny and Jo, they talk. Jo and Lacey demand that Danny tell them about his aunt. He then reveals that he was off the soccer team. And Jo and Lacey take that opportunity to drop that Danny’s father was somehow involved in Regina’s murder.
Danny is mad but gets over it.
Danny begins to tell Lacey about the relationship and his dad and aunt relationship. They hated each other. Tara had power to ruin family. However, he never told her why he killed her.
As Lacey is walking back to the party Sarita walks up to her. She says that she knows that Lacey has been hanging out with Jo and Danny. Sarita made her choose between Jo and Danny and Lacey’s popular friends. Lacey doesn’t answer but simply walks away.
Danny walks alone and Lacey confronts him again, without Jo. He asks her why she came back and she doesn’t answer. He realizes at that point that he is never going to be normal. And Lacey kisses him.
They don’t stop kissing until they are lying on the ground staring at Tara’s grave. Lacey says she has a boyfriend.
Jo arrives home on time and has a heart to heart discussion with her mother. She says that she not only has a crush on Danny but is also in love with him. And the dramatic love triangle exploded.
When Danny arrived home, he found his mother. She said that her job interview went horribly but she got the job anyway. She got the job because Kyle gave her a recommendation. Danny begins to ask her a question about his father but he decides not to and heads to bed.
Jo’s parents totally hook up in their shed after talking out their feelings. Which is weird. I guess it’s good that they talked out their whole marriage. I bet it is the calm before the storm because I’m sure there are going to be some dirty details about Jo’s mom and Danny’s dad.
Lacey broke up with Archie. She then went to Danny’s house and told him. While I said that I was Team Jo/Danny, I’ve changed my mind. Lacey and Danny seem right for each other- even if Danny is a murderer.
At the end of the episode, a cop comes to Kyle’s door and said that they found the necklace in the lake. I guess Kyle isn’t such a bad cop after all…
So, what do you think? Did Danny kill Tara to protect his dad and family? Comment below.
