The major domino in the 2013 free agent period, Dwight Howard, has officially fallen so the question now becomes who is left?
After Howard officially decided to sign with Houston, there were immediately reports that Omer Asik wanted out, which led to speculation that free agent forward Josh Smith would be a candidate to come to the Rockets in a sign-and-trade that would involve Asik.
Other notable free agents that have signed this offseason include, Andre Iguodala (Warriors), Al Jefferson (Bobcats), Paul Millsap (Hawks). Chris Paul re-signed with the Clippers, and David West re-signed with the Pacers. NBA reports.
With all of these big name signings, the amount of big names remaining on the market are dwindling. The biggest name is Josh Smith, but there are other notable players available including Brandon Jennings, Monta Ellis, Nikola Pekovic, and maybe most notably Andrew Bynum who didn't play a minute for the Philadelphia 76ers last year. Even though there may be no more maximum-deal-type players left on the free agent market, there are players who can help a team make a further playoff push. There are also wildcard players, like Bynum, who could either become an all-NBA player, or possibly not play at all due to his bad knees.
A lot has happened already in this NBA offseason, but there is still so much more that will happen before the start of the 2013-14 NBA season
