It’s a good thing that Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson already said that he’s not running for a Louisiana Congressional seat, because if he did, he would probably lose. A new poll shows that a majority of voters do not think he should enter politics.
According to Politico, a arper Polling/Conservative Intel poll mostly focused on the Louisiana Senate race next year, but there was a question about Robertson. “As you may know, Willie Robertson, star of the TV show Duck Dynasty is considering running for Congress,” the poll noted. “Do you think he should or should not run?”
Only 26 percent of those polled said that he should run, while 41 percent said that he shouldn’t. The remaining 33 percent said that they weren’t sure.
The next question on the poll asked Louisiana voters which Duck Dynasty star they think should run. Willie came in second with 24 percent. His uncle, Si Robertson, beat him with 25 percent. Phil earned 21 percent, while Miss Kay and Jase had 17 percent and 13 percent, respectively.
Rumors that Willie would run began when an outside advisor to House GOP told the Washington Examiner that they were interested in asking Willie to run for office.
He later laughed that off, saying it was “news to me.”
Duck Dynasty started its fourth season on A&E. The season premiere was the most-watched non-fiction broadcast in cable TV history with 11.8 million viewers.
