The stars of Fox’s cult sci-fi series Fringe are quickly returning to television. After Anna Torv landed a gig in an HBO pilot, her co-star, Joshua Jackson, has landed a role in a Showtime pilot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jackson will star in The Affair, which was developed by In Treatment team Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi. It focuses on two marriages and the affairs that ruin them.
HitFix reports that Jackson was cast as Cole, a cowboy with a ranch in Long Island. His wife Allison starts an affair with Noah, which damages Noah’s marriage to Helen.
All of the lead roles have been cast, with Ruth Wilson (Luther) playing Allison and Dominic West (The Wire) starring as Noah. Maura Tierney (ER) plays Helen.
Shameless’s Mark Lloyd has been hired to direct the pilot.
Fringe ran for 100 episodes over five seasons, which ended last season. Torv, who also starred in the series, will appear in Ryan Murphy’s HBO pilot Open with Jennifer Jason Leigh, Scott Speedman and Wes Bentley.
Jackson’s other credits include Dawson’s Creek and Cruel Intentions.
