Saturday Night Live is known for having a revolving door, but the long-running sketch comedy show will be without its biggest stars as it enters a new season. While NBC still hasn’t said who will be replacing Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and Fred Armisen, a report this week suggests that there could be as many as five new comedians on the show.
Deadline reported Thursday that comedian John Milhiser, and actress Noël Wells, along with performers Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett are in the running for the new featured players spots on the show. The site later updated its report, adding SNL writer Michael Patrick O’Brien to the mix. O’Brien has been with the show for the past four seasons.
Wells has shown skills in YouTube clips as an impressionist, notes The Washington Post. She has a series of YouTube videos in which she does a dead-on impression of Zooey Deschanel.
Zap2It notes that Bennett is a member of Good Neighbor and also appears in the AT&T commercials as the guy asking children questions. Mooney is also a member of Good Neighbor and appeared on Parks & Recreation in 2011. Milhiser is a member of Serious Lunch.
NBC still hasn’t confirmed anything about SNL’s new season. In addition to Hader, Armisen and Sudeikis leaving, Weekend Update’s Seth Meyers is leaving mid-season to host Late Night.
