James Bond’s latest gadget master Q has divulged through his rep over the weekend that he is gay and in a relationship with Mark Bradshaw, an Australian composer.
According to E! Online, The Hour star Ben Whishaw has long been elusive about his private life, but speculation swirled around his sexuality after he gave an interview with Out in 2011 about an off-Broadway play he was currently in.
The 32-year-old actor met Bradshaw on the set of 2009’s Bright Star where Whishaw portrayed poet John Keats, reports the Daily Mail.
“Ben has never hidden his sexuality, but like many actors he prefers not to discuss his family or life outside of his work,” his rep told the Daily Mail. “Due to speculation, I can confirm that Ben and Mark entered into a civil partnership in August 2012.”
The young actor has appeared in such films as Layer Cake - alongside Skyfall actor Daniel Craig, Perfume and The Tempest.
Whishaw is due to reprise his role as Q in the next Bond film out in 2015.
