On a show like The Following, no one is safe. The death of Agent Parker (Annie Parisse) saddened and scared us for the fate of everyone else – including the potential deaths of Claire (Natalie Zea) and Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), the cult’s leader. Fox’s hit crime-drama sparked the interest of many viewers bringing it back for a much-anticipated second season, with more plot complications than ever. The Following recently added two noteworthy actors to join Kevin Bacon and the rest of the cast.

The first new member to join is Dexter’s Sam Underwood, who currently stars alongside Michael C. Hall on the eighth and final season of Dexter. Underwood, who was added as a series regular, is portraying Luke, a dark and complex character who is most likely a follower of Joe Carroll.

Connie Nielsen, known for Law and Order: SVU and Boss, was also added as a series regular. She will play Lily Gray, a troubled Soho art dealer. We’re guessing that she’ll serve as a new love interest for Ryan Hardy (Bacon), as E! Online released spoilers hinting the fate of Claire.

Despite Claire’s fate, both Zea and Purefoy - who appeared to be killed in the finale - are set to return for the second season as well, though it could be in flashbacks. The Following will air in early January and pick up one year later from where the finale ended.
