In this episode of Under the Dome, Big Jim and Barbie discover their lives are more intertwined than they knew when a mysterious woman, Maxine, shows up unexpectedly in Chester's Mill.

In this episode, there are three different plot lines to keep an eye on. Barbie and Big Jim are connected. Junior and Angie are connected by the dome. Also, Joe, Norrie and Angie are three parts out of four needed to figure out the mini dome.

The first plot line begins when a townsman named Ted shoots at a drug induced home invader. Barbie and Linda capture the invader but they also discover that he had been taking a new drug called Rapture made by the Reverend Lester. This leads the two of them to investigate the funeral home. They find the drug supplies and a connection to propane. Big Jim and Barbie decide to confiscate people’s guns. The townspeople are encouraged to do this in exchange for food and propane. However, the whole act is voluntary. Linda goes to the propane warehouse and finds out that Duke was hiding his involvement with Big Jim. She also watches surveillance video and also finds out that he was in cahoots with a blonde woman.

Barbie and Big Jim held over to Ted’s home and they get him to give up his weapons. The two men return to the diner to find Maxine waiting for them. We learn that Maxine ordered Barbie to deal with Peter. She also worked with Big Jim to create the new drug “Rapture” with the Reverend. Big Jim and Barbie are now working for Max because she knows all of their secrets.

In the other plot lines, Junior tells Angie about a painting his mom did nine years ago. The painting showed him under pink stars. The painting also corresponds with the phrase: the pink stars are falling. Meanwhile, Norrie, Julia, and Joe are trying to find the mini dome but by the end of the episode Joe and Norrie discover that the dome was in the barn. Angie shows up and the three of them touch the dome revealing that a fourth person is needed.

This was an interesting episode. The plot twists and new connections that were showcased in this episode give the show a much needed boost. I look forward to seeing what happens next. Under the Dome airs on CBS.
