On this week’s Wipeout, 24 contestants will compete individually to make it to the Wipeout Zone, where the final three will compete for the $50,000 prize.
Qualifier
In tonight’s qualifier, contestants go through the Tether Beater, and then past the Fail Boxes. They jump over the Big Balls, and then go through the Trippidy Skippidy Flippidy Do, and then onto the Wipeout Bakery and the finish platform.
The first contestant is Jessica Sacoma. She tries her best on the Tether Beater, but can’t hold on. She gets knocked off on the second Fail Box, but moves onto the Big Balls. She doesn’t even get to the first ball, instead getting knocked off by a surprise pop-out. She almost makes it through the Trippidy Skippidy Flippidy Do, but takes a fall. She does better on the Wipeout Bakery, but just when she thinks she made it to the finish platform, yet another surprising pop-out obstacle knocks her off. She finishes with a time of 8:06.6.
Up next is Laura Linehan. Laura takes a flip off the Tether Beater, and doesn’t do any better on the Trippidy Skippidy Flippidy Do.
Dillan Porter takes his try at the Tether Beater. He almost makes it across, but ends up missing the finish platform. He makes it to the platform on Trippidy Skippidy Flippidy Do, and even though he gets knocked around, he ends up staying out of the water. He makes it through the Wipeout Bakery and onto the finish platform, but falls victim to the surprise pop-out and is stuck with a long swim to the finish platform. He finishes with a time of 3:10.7.
The next contestant is Desiree Gastring. She gets knocked off the Fail Boxes and winds up in the mud.
Golem Mulugeta almost makes it over the Big Balls, but falls off on the third.
Andrew Lauer, the oldest contestant of the day, gets no love on the Tether Beater, and does just as badly on the Fail Boxes.
After the commercial break, contestant Jamie Keil takes her shot at the qualifier. She falls off the Tether Beater, but doesn’t let it phase her. She does well on the Big Balls, and is able to knock off Smallsy and earn $500. She doesn’t do as well on the Trippidy Skippidy Flippidy Do, and even though she makes it through the Wipeout Bakery, she falls off at the end. She finishes a time of 3:19.9.
Joshua Olsen takes his shot on the Big Balls. He takes an awesome spin off the Big Balls, but ends up in the water.
Paula Williams falls off the Tether Beater, and even though she almost makes it through the Fail Boxes, she ends up in the mud.
Jenna Verduzco becomes the next victim of the Tether Beater.
The last contestant of the day, George Vartanian takes a few falls, but finishes with a time of 3:13.2.
Top 12
Moving onto the next round are Laura Linehan, Dillan Porter, Eric McLean, Golem Mulugeta, Alexandria Wright, Andrew Lauer, Jamie Keil, Joshua Olsen, Paula Williams, Jenna Verduzco, Tara Cunningham, and George Vartanian.
Octopushy
The contestants have to move around the spinning arms and towards the finish platform. The first six people to make it to the end get to move onto the next round.
Quite a few contestants jump on at once, but most of them end up getting knocked off. With Andrew and Laura hanging on the arms as they spin around, contestants get knocked off left and right. Both Andrew and Golem fall off the finish platform, while George can’t make it through either.
Jamie spins around on one of the arms, while Paula falls off. Andrew tries again, while Jenna sits on one of the arms. Dillon and Jenna jump for the finish platform at the same time, and they both make it.
Andrew spins around on one of the arms, knocking off other contestants as he goes. He can’t make it to the finish platform, and George falls off as well.
Joshua almost makes it, but slides off the platform at the end. Paula jumps on and quickly becomes the third person to make it to the finish.
George tries again for the finish, but misses the platform. Andrew tries yet again, and this time he makes it through.
Joshua also takes a quick run to the finish, leaving only one spot left.
Laura becomes the last person to make it through.
Top 6
The top six are Dillan Porter, Laura Linehan, Jenna Verduzco, Joshua Olsen, Andrew Lauer, and Paula Williams.
Semi-Finals
Contestants start by moving across the percussion section. They ride a drumstick over onto the second platform, and then move over the keyboards. They jump through the guitar to the finish. The first three contestants to make it to the finish platform move onto the Wipeout Zone.
Josh moves onto the first drum, and then makes it to the second platform. Andrew is knocked off by a drumstick, while Paula almost makes it to the finish platform, only to fall off. Laura and Dillon both jump onto the drums together. Laura makes it to the second platform, but Dillon and Jenna fall off.
Dillon eventually makes it to the second platform, only to follow Paula and fall off the keyboards. Andrew and Joshua both work on the keyboards, but they both fall off. Dillon takes another shot, but he can’t make it to the end either.
Laura and Joshua both jump onto the keyboards, and Laura becomes the first to make it to the guitar. Joshua follows suit. He jumps through the guitar but can’t make it to the end.
Jenna joins Laura on the guitar platform, but neither of them makes it through. Joshua becomes the first to make it through the guitar, and is the first to move onto the Wipeout Zone.
Laura tries again on the guitar, but can’t make it. Dillon makes it through on his first try, and becomes the second person to move onto the Wipeout Zone.
Jenna tries again on the guitar, but doesn’t make it. Laura gets knocked off by a flying biscuit, and Jenna gets ready to try again. She becomes the last person to make it to the Wipeout Zone.
Top 3
The final three are Jenna Verduzco, Dillan Porter, and Joshua Olsen.
Wipeout Zone
Contestants are first launched off the Scare Chair. Then, they run through the Blockbuster, and then go through the Space Pod of Doom. Finally, they go over the Bounder Pounder to the finish platform.
Up first is Joshua Olsen. He launches off the Scare Chair, and starts swimming towards the Blockbuster. He quickly falls off, and gets ready to try again. He does a little better, but still can’t make it through. He makes it pretty far, but falls off, and decides to take the time penalty. He makes it through the Space Pod of Doom on his first try. He barely makes it past the first trampoline on the Bounder Pounder, and after finishing yet another obstacle on his first try, he finishes with an impressive time of 4:42.29.
Up next is Jenna Verduzco. She launches off the Scare Chair, and then falls off her first try on the Blockbuster. She makes it farther on her second try, but falls off again. She comes extremely close to the finish, but falls off the last block, ending her run at the $50,000.
The last contestant is Dillon Porter. Dillon flips into the Wipeout Zone, and swims onto the Blockbuster. He does very well on Blockbuster, becoming the only contestant of the night to make it through on his first try. He falls off the platform on the Space Pod of Doom, and has to try again. He misses the platform on the first spin around, but makes it through on the second spin. He falls off the first trampoline on Bounder Pounder, and after a swim back to the start, he falls off yet again. On his third try, he makes it past the first trampoline, and does it again on his second try, finishing with a time of 4:35.44.
Dillon Porter is the winner of tonight’s $50,000 prize!
