During season five of Modern Family, there could be a possible wedding for couple, Mitchell Pritchett and Cam Tucker.
On Wednesday, Access Hollywood talked with Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet about the future for their characters, and a possible wedding storyline within the upcoming season.
“The [show] family…lives in California and we operate very boldly in the reality of where our country is now,” said Ferguson.
Show writer Jeffry Richman said that before Prop 8 was appealed in June, writers were working on a storyline centering the Courts hearing decision to legalize gay marriage.
“We would have been extremely unlucky writers had the decision gone the other way,” said Richman.
The creators and cast have yet to make an official statement on whether fans will see Cam and Mitch walk down the aisle, according to the Huffington Post, but cast mate Ed O’Neil, who plays Cam’s father, said he could see the wedding happening.
Even if a wedding does not happen next season, Stonestreet would agree, seeing a wedding in the eventual future.
Modern Family will return to ABC on Sept. 25th at 9 p.m. for a 1-hour season premiere.
