According to TODAY.com Matt and Savannah couldn't pass up the chance to keep ribbing at Al calling him "Rip Van Roker." Al wasn't the only TODAY show anchor to sleep in this week. TODAY.com also noted that Willie Geist, co-host of MSNBC's Morning Joe and anchor of the 3rd hour of the TODAY Show, slept through his alarm missing the first segment of Morning Joe on Monday.
Roker joined the Today show in 1996 and began hosting Wake Up With Al in 2009 airing at 6 a.m. on The Weather Channel.
