Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress Amber Tamblyn is set to take on the role of Charlie Harper’s estranged lesbian daughter on the upcoming season of Two and a Half Men.
Us Weekly reports that Tamblyn will play Jenny Harper, the illegitimate daughter of the late Charlie Harper.
Charlie Sheen long played the role of Harper on the hit CBS series until he was ultimately fired for blasting creator Chuck Lorre and claiming he had “tiger’s blood.” Actor Ashton Kutcher replaced Sheen when he was killed off series in 2011.
Us Weekly suggests that Tamblyn addition to the cast is a replacement for Angus T. Jones who openly bashed the series last year calling the sitcom “filth” and begging viewers not to watch it.
Months later, it was revealed that Jones would not return/a> as a series regular as his character Jake is in the army. Jones is still expected to make some appearances, it is just unclear exactly how often viewers will see him.
Tamblyn is already slated to appear in at least five episodes and should become a series regular.
Lorre previously expressed his desire to add a woman to the Two and a Half Men cast saying, "I think it would be great to have a voice on the show from a different perspective. The show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime."
Two and a Half Men will return Sept. 26.
