The time has finally come for America’s Got Talent’s semi finals. Twelve acts will perform and only 6 will move forward. One of the acts, The Kristef Brothers, were suppose to perform but they had an accident and will have to wait until the following week. Therefore, Nick announces that the judges wild card will replace them. He asks Howie who it will be, and he says red panda.
Now, the first act of the night, is Tone the Chiefrocca. They were Mel B’s wildcard. She bought them back. They sang their infamous song, BOOTY. The remixed the song a bit. Mel B called it off the chain and she loved it. Howard gave them an X. He said it was fun once, but he was bored. Howie called it good as gangnam style. It is a one hit wonder he said. Heidi said it was not her favorite version of the song. Next up is Howie’s wildcard pick, Red Panda. She is on a unicycle and juggles bowls on her foot then swings them to her head. She did miss one of the bowls. Nick called it incredible. Howie was very pleased to have her come on stage and give it her all. Howard praised her for her strength and talent. Mel B said she didn’t like it.
The next act onstage was Angela Hoover. She is a comedian who had mixed reviews last time she was onstage. The judges had told her she needed to work on her material, so the pressure was on this time. She did a really good job this time around, she did new impressions and had fresh material. Howard said she definitely brought it tonight. Heidi loved her impressions. Mel B says she really hopes America votes for her. The next act was Heidi’s wildcard pick. Duo Resonance, they are so innovative and every time they perform they do something new. Heidi said she was very happy to see them perform. Howie said that America has to vote! Collins Key is next onstage. His magic tricks are always a little complicated. He tells the judges they will play match maker. He has them pick 3 balls from a sack then place them back in. Then he asks them to pick one from the sack to keep it in their hand. Then he turns to the audience, everyone has envelopes but only one says #possible date. The girl that has it comes onstage. Now every ball the judges have, has a specific description of the girl. The girl that was brought onstage matched the exact description. Mel B said she was confused, and doesn’t know what’s going on. Howie said he loved it and thought it was amazing. Howard said he didn’t love it at all. He said his delivery fell flat. Heidi said she couldn’t figure it out, but loves the fact that she can’t.
The next act is innovative force. These girls are dancers. Their routine seemed a little sloppy. Almost as I they didn’t have enough time to rehearse. They were not as precise as they have been in the past. Howie said it looked a little like a cheerleading competition. Also that it did not blow him away. Howard said they are an inspiration to America. Heidi stood on her feet and said it was the best act of the night so far. Mel B said she is a fan but tonight it felt a little messy. The next act is Dave Fenley. Mel B has always been a supporter so he sang a Spice Girl’s song. Mel B said she loved his rendition of it. Howard said he thought the song was a train wreck. Heidi said she loves how it’s just him and his guitar. Howie said he disagrees with Howard and thinks it’s the best act of the night.
The next act of the night was Taylor Williamson. He dedicated his set to Heidi Klum since she hasn’t been his biggest fan. He did a great job. Heidi said she loves the part when he flirts with her. Mel B called him completely inappropriate and loved it. Howie called it brilliantly funny, and says he loves him. Howard gave him a standing ovation. He said he is handling himself beautifully. The next act is Jonathan Allen, and he is an opera singer. Mel B said it was interesting how he showed a different side to his voice. She called it a brave choice. Howie said he worked way out of his comfort zone and it didn’t work. Howard said he missed it too. Heidi said it was perfect, and loves him.
The next act is Catapult Entertainment. They did a sea adventure. I was a little lost. Mel B said she liked it but did not love it. She thought the first half was a little confused. Howie said he agreed with Mel. Howard said he was confused too and the story was not clear. The next contestant is Cami Bradley. She sang acoustically. Mel B said her voice is amazing but thought it was a little boring. Howard said she makes everyone fall in love with her. Howie said he is in love with her. She did a good solid job, I did feel like it fell a little flat. The last act of the night is Forte. They are an opera trio. These guys are phenomenal. All four judges gave them a standing ovation. Heidi said wow. Mel B said she has changed her mind and really likes them. Howie said they might have sent Jonathan Allen home. Howard said they consistently perform good and congratulated them. The first night of the semi finals were full of ups and downs. America decides which 6 will move forward.
