With Red Panda out of the competition, how will Melody Caballero compete after only one week of practice?
12) 2Unique - I appreciate the old-school approach to rapping, but I just don't like the tone of their voices. It just seemed both nasally and helium-propelled. The spinning skills were pretty basic. They had some minor mistakes but it wasn't enough to keep them going. My Grade: D-
11) Sam Johnson - The act is death-defying and interesting to watch, but it really is a carnival/fair act. The swinging part seemed almost easy as long as he was attached to the pole correctly. My Grade: D+
10) Selena Mykenzie Gordon - There's something weird about Selena's pronunciation that is grating to listen to. Her low end was weak and she warbled through the high notes. It was the wrong choice of song with her voice. She'd fit more on a Leona Lewis style. My Grade: C-
9) Melody Caballero - Melody got an extra shot after Red Panda had to drop out. Her contortionism was amazing to watch, but the main concern I have is her transition between big moves. It took her too long to grab the rose with her mouth. I don't think that either Melody or Red Panda would make it through because both are one-hit wonders. My Grade: C
8) Dave Fenley - Dave has a wonderful husky voice and he was accurate in his performance. The song was the right choice and the emotion he put in the end was great. The biggest problem was that going third during this week will hurt his chances. My Grade: B
7) Virginia State University Gospel Chorale - If I complained ever about groups that weren't able to fill the stage, the Gospel Chorale was not one of them. I love the song "Like a Prayer" and the execution and the key change. I wonder if the concept of Gospel is too cultural, like Mitsi Dancing School or even Sebastien "El Charro de Oro" from last season. I would rather see them than American Military Spouses Choir. My Grade: B+
6) Duo Resonance - The Duo's direct competition is the KriStef Brothers, so the difference the two could do is to bring an intense chemistry and it was beautiful to watch. I loved the rotating platform to really emphasize these beautiful shapes. My Grade: B+
5) Ruby & Jonas - I think that Ruby has much more charisma than her brother and their choice of a jive was smart. The use of backup dancers was smart and added depth to the performance. I actually thought the video angles did a disservice to the couple. My Grade: B+
4) D'Angelo & Amanda - The couple went with a dramatic Paso Doble and I liked the battle ring they chose to emphasize the conflict. Amanda was insanely flexible and their sharp movements near the end were great. My Grade: A-
3) John Wing - John's execution was great and he picked a topic that Heidi would understand (parenting). I liked the poor spelling "butch" joke and his rapid fire three-word parenting phrases because even when the audience's applause swelled, he kept going. My Grade: A-
2) Sprice - Sprice has a similar act to The Kinetic King except he had a bit more technological undertone with the use of the power strip and the fire. It's fun to watch and we'll definitely see something different. My Grade: B+
1) Catapult - The dedication to Sandy Hook was a strong enough theme to make this concept work. The reason why Attraction won Britain's Got Talent was because they went with British patriotism. I actually thought there were much better shapes and use of depth than the Silhouettes. The final transformation from the mother's head into a tree was amazing. If I had any criticisms, I'd suggest smoother transitions. My Grade: A
I really think that it'll be down to the brother and sisters as fourth and fifth as a cruel way to torture the judges. I'll take either because I'm pretty sure their parents helped with both performances.
