The twenty-third episode of Big Brother began with a brief flashback of Thursday’s eviction and HOH Competition. Amanda was happy that Jessie is gone and said that she feels she has control of the game and everybody in the house (*Rolls eyes*). Spencer seemed very relieved and said that he does not want to be in the nomination chair again. Andy was emotional and said that seeing Jessie go was tough. After winning the HOH Competition, Aaryn stated that winning another HOH Competition is “great yet scary.” Once again, Amanda is upset about not winning anything. While talking to McCrae, Amanda thought that McCrae was insinuating that Amanda sucks at competing in the competitions. This led to another tiff between her a McCrae and she proceeded to hide behind a trash can in the utility room and cry. Meanwhile, Spencer and GinaMarie are in the kitchen talking about how Amanda is ruining McCrae’s life (I agree with that). Elissa was nervous about Aaryn about being HOH and Helen tried to encourage to stay in the game and to stay strong.
Later, Helen complimented Aaryn and kissed her butt even more by telling her that she is better than past Big Brother contestant Janelle (*Rolls eyes again*). After one of her numerous meltdowns, Amanda talked to McCrae about talking to Aaryn. They both told Aaryn to nominate Elissa and Helen for eviction.
The “3 a.m.” alliance established roles for each other: Amanda is “The Mastermind,” Andy is “The Agent,” Aaryn is “The Beast,” and McCrae is “The Enforcer.” Time to see Aaryn’s HOH room! (*crickets*) There were pictures of a younger Aaryn and candy in Aaryn’s HOH room. Elissa was not excited to her HOH room, and Amanda was jealous of Aaryn and practically took over her room by using her facial mask and taking over her couch. Elissa stated that Aaryn makes her feel uncomfortable and Helen was forcing her to break bread with Aaryn despite her feelings about her. Elissa and Helen also talked about how much they miss their family. Once again, Helen tried to convince Elissa to remain strong. In response, Elissa told Helen that if she goes home, she would not want to go to the Jury House. This upset Helen and she told GinaMarie, Andy, Amanda, and McCrae about what Elissa said to her. They trashed Elissa by saying that she is self-evicting herself and how Rachel would be disappointed in her. When Spencer tried to take up for Elissa by saying that she may be having a bad day, GinaMarie disagreed. Helen was driven to tears. In the Diary Room, Amanda says to Helen, “Elissa is not the target, you are.”
Time for the Have/Have Not Competition! The competition was called “The Black Box,” and it consisted of two teams competing to find a key in a dark room with various obstacles and pressing the buzzer. The team that finds the key and presses the buzzer in the fastest time become Haves for the week and the other team will become Have Nots for the week. The green team consisted of GinaMarie, Elissa, Helen, and Amanda and their time was seven minutes and twenty-one seconds. The orange team consisted of Spencer, Andy, Aaryn, and McCrae and their time was three minutes and forty-one seconds. The orange team became Haves for the week and the green team became Have Nots for the week.
Helen told GinaMarie about her Korean background and GinaMarie seemed intrigued. Elissa tried to convince Aaryn to not nominate her for eviction, but it did not work well because Elissa talked about her family and yoga the entire time. Aaryn told Helen that Aaryn or Spencer going home is fine with her and Helen agrees. Unbeknownst to Helen, Aaryn also thought about nominating her as well.
Time for the Nomination Ceremony! Aaryn nominated Elissa and Helen for eviction. Her reason for nominating them was because they are a “power duo” who could affect her game. Amanda was happy that things are going her way. Helen said that she will fight to stay in the house. Spencer was just happy to not be nominated again.
