DJ sensation Calvin Harris has worked with a number of music royalty. His real name is Adam Richard Wiles and Harris was born in Dumfries, Scotland. He was first attracted to electronic music as a teenager and started recording bedroom demos. Now, Harris is focused on the electropop, electro house, nu-disco and synthpop genre. Harris has written and produced records for other recording artists including Kylie Minogue, Ellie Goulding, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Dizzee Rascal, Rihanna, Ke$ha, Florence Welch and Ne-Yo.

Aside from his killer collaborations, the dynamic singer-songwriter DJ has made a bonafide name for himself in the music industry with his hit single “Feel So Close”. This Scotland native is reaching high success and is DJ’ing all over the world while making Las Vegas cameos. Harris is definitely taking over the music world one dance club at a time.

Forbes published its first annual World’s Highest Paid DJs list. Dutch DJ Tiesto topped the chart with $22 million dollars. Forbes then revealed their list of the globe’s top-earning DJs for 2013, with Calvin Harris climbing the chart with his impressive $46 million over the past 12 months.

According to LA Times, Harris’ earning comes from his $200,000-and-up nightly DJ fees, his successful solo album18 Months and collaboration with Rihanna's hit singles "We Found Love" and "Where Have You Been?"

In the mist of all his success Harris remains humble as he told Radio.com, “I like to think I don’t have an ego [that's] like you need to be number one–the best, the DJ of all time. I want to be the number one songwriter-producer guy of all time.”

Harris earnings beats Tiesto by more than twice his earning. He also beats his fellow DJs David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia and some of his hip-hop and pop peers. About his success Harris told Forbes, “The rise of dance music has been astronomical in the last three years and I happened to be in the right place at the right time.”

Harris has upcoming U.S. tour dates that include stops at Jay Z‘s Made in America festival over Labor Day weekend, and headlining the new Forever Festival. The festival is scheduled for September 27 in suburban Detroit that includes performances from Flux Pavilion, Morgan Page and Beats Antique.
