A wedding at camp Little Otter gets everyone inspired to make big decisions about their relationships.
The day starts with Kip cheerfully walking throughout camp. He’s got a new lease on life after avoiding another cancer scare and is determined to finally go after Marina, but Kip is still together with Chloe who likes him for his dark, depressing side.
In the dining hall, Robbie is the one who’s feeling depressed after Sarah cheated on him. Cole recommends that Robbie enjoys some rebound sex. The rest of the camp is on Robbie’s side and has branded Sarah as a whore.
Across the dining hall, Mack has big news for her friends Todd and Raffi: the mayor is allowing gay marriages for a limited time. Raffi then proposes to Todd who reluctantly accepts with the pressure of his daughter, Grace, who is excited for her dads to get married. Mack has agreed to plan their wedding with Grace’s help and soon all of camp is pitching in to make their wedding happen in one day.
While Kip and Buzz are painting for the ceremony, Marina shares how happy she is that Kip didn’t get cancer after all. That does it for Kip-- he’s going to break up with Chloe and ask Marina out. Buzz quickly reminds him that although he wants to pursue Marina, she is still going out with Greg.
The more time Marina spends with Greg, the more she begins to doubt their relationship. Greg is absent-minded whenever the two of them talk and he’s more focused on himself than on her.
Upon hearing that camp Little Otter is having a gay wedding, Roger, the director of Ridgefield Lodge volunteers to throw a bachelor party. All he asks for in return is some pictures of the happy couple to draw in more gay couples at his camp.
Across camp, Cole is giving a camper some pitching advice when a scout recognizes him from his prominent baseball past. He then refers him to a job opening as a baseball trainer at Michigan state.
Kip finally takes Chloe out on the lake for a boat ride, not for romantic reasons, but to break up with her. He hopes they can stay friends; she hopes he dies. She goes off and cries only to be consoled by Marina, whom she’s been picking on all Summer long. Marina then admits that she broke up with Greg also, despite the fact that he wrote her a romantic and meaningful song. She begins to think that maybe she should stay single for a while.
Back at Mack’s office, Cole asks if he could take the day off for his job interview. Mack gladly agrees and is happy to see Cole make big changes. Sarah also seek Mack’s advice. She is distraught because everyone at camp has turned on her since word leaked that she cheated on Robbie. Mack lets her know that she made a mistake and it’s ok.
In order to get over Sarah, Robbie goes to the bar and drinks with the sexy bartender. Robbie figures that he should ask her to the wedding to make Sarah jealous.
In other celebrations, Raffi, Todd, Mack, and Sheila are enjoying the bachelor party Robbie threw. Everyone’s drinking, riding mechanical bulls, and listening to music. Raffi jokingly puts on a veil, then Todd loses it. He says Raffi is acting ridiculous because of a big, dumb wedding. He admits that he was happy the way things were before their engagement and then storms off.
The next day Mack finds Todd drowning his sorrow in bourbon. Todd admits the finality and commitment of the wedding ceremony is freaking him out, despite the fact that him and Raffi have been together for 19 years. Todd realizes he was wrong and apologizes to Raffi. He understands him completely and informs him that gay marriages have been revoked in the state. However, they decide to still get symbolically married.
Cole goes to his interview only to be asked why his only job has been at camp Little Otter for years. He explains how he likes to go on adventures and be free. He then realizes that the job won’t be the right fit for him. He returns to camp just in time for the ceremony.
Mack presides over the wedding. She declares that Raffi and Todd are the perfect couple: they understand each other, accept each other and support one another. They should be the definition of marriage.
The wedding is then followed by a huge party. Everyone is having a blast, except Sarah who notices Robbie and his date kiss. She throws a slice of cake at them and makes a scene. She’s hurt that this is how her Summer is going to be: paying for her mistake. Robbie yells that he’s the one who’s hurt. He storms out and Sarah runs to Mack. Sarah decides that she can’t stay at camp anymore and packs her car to go home for good.
Mack goes back to the reception and finds Cole. She wants to hear all about his job interview. He tells her it wasn’t right for him. They have a moment staring into each other’s eyes and passionately kiss! Mack pulls away and admits that Cole is too young for her. He says she’s wrong for him and that he has to make big life changes if he ever wants a decent woman.
Back at the celebration, everyone is giving testimonials to the newlyweds. Roger, Sheila, and Buzz all make awkward, but loving toasts. Grace finally steps up to show her love for her dads. She then apologizes for the credit charges for a set of plane tickets. The family will be going to New York to make their vows legal in court.
Outside the celebration, Marina pulls Kip outside. She asks him if he was the one who wrote the song for her. Kip confesses that those were his words in the song, not Greg’s. He tells her that he should have admitted how he really feels. Moved, Marina caresses his face and the two finally kiss!
