Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. West is in the house! (Not just any house, at that). As co-founder of Donda's House, which is a charitable organizational named after his deceased mother, Kanye West has teamed up with a local church for a once in a lifetime opportunity. Donda's House will be offering a 10 week music training program to youths in Chicago's turbulent South Side district completely free of charge based on the consideration of being deemed "at risk". Selected students will be responsible for attending lectures in order to learn how to write and record their own music throughout the course. The educational efforts will be organized by Grammy-winning rapper Rhymefest, serving as a form of collaboration between the two artists. At the end of the course, students are expecting to have their work released as a record!
A Donda's House spokesman says, "Art instruction and particularly music instruction leads people to become better problem solvers, more flexible. There are just so many outcomes that come from the study of music and particularly music writing."
Kanye West may usually be in the headlines for his selfish antics, but this is a step in the right direction for the artist. It may be difficult for someone to change overnight but they can do so little by little. No good deed should go unnoticed and because of your selfless hard work, Mr. West, dreams are becoming a reality.
