CNN and U.K. broadcaster ITV announced that they have secured the first interview with Prince William since he and his wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, became parents.
The special is titled Prince William's Passion: New Father, New Hope and was made for ITV by documentary filmmaker Jane Treays, the U.K. Mirror reports. While he will cover the joys of being a first time parent, the special will also cover his dedication to charity work in Africa, inspired by the work of his late mother, Princess Diana. William will be seen wearing a shirt with the logo for Tusk Tusk, a charity that focuses on African conservation.
CNN announced that it will also air the documentary, which will air on the network on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 10 p.m. CNN’s own Max Foster also spoke with William and foster’s interview will be a part of the special as well.
CNN will air segments of the interview during New Day on Monday, Aug. 19 at 8 a.m.
“The documentary offers viewers a unique and rare insight into the true passions in Prince William’s life, Africa, wildlife conservation and, above all, his family,” ITV controller Jo Clinton Davis said in a statement about the documentary, which will also air in the U.K. next month.
While this will be William’s first sit-down interview since Prince George’s birth, he did make a royal appearance and spoke with a crowd. “Catherine is sorry that she cannot be here today at the County Show. But she and George would have loved to have been here. He's pretty loud but of course very good looking,” he said.
