Kelly Clarkson and fiance Brandon Blackstock will not have a big wedding. The songstress told People that she and Blackstock got too overwhelmed with wedding plans and decided to elope. Clarkson says that they both have hectic schedules and a big wedding would not work out for them. She also says that their lives are constantly in the spotlight and she wants to wedding to be an “intimate moment that’s special” for them.

Bradley manning, known as the Army Private who leaked U.S. classified documents to WikiLeaks, announced that he wants to live the rest of his life as a woman. Manning, who was sentenced to 35 years in prison, made his announcement on NBC’s Today Show. His statement reads “I am Chelsea Manning. I am female. Given the way that I feel, and have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible. I hope that you will support me in this transition.” Manning asked that people now refer to him as “she” when talking about him. The Army said it does not offer hormone therapy or sex-reassignment surgery for gender identity disorder.

San Diego mayor Bill Filner will reportedly resign office this week. The mayor has been dealing with pressure from San Diego citizens after sexual harassment lawsuits were filed against him. At least a dozen women have filed complaints against Filner. The mayor admitted that he needed help, but only went to therapy for two weeks. NBC 7 News reports that Filner made a deal with city officials to resign after a city council meeting on Friday.

A man who has been squatting in Jennifer Lopez’s Hamptons pool house was charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors. John M Dubis reportedly stayed in the house for a week before being discovered. E! Online reports that Dubis is being held on $100,000 bail and undergoing testing to see if he is fit to move on with criminal proceedings.
