Police responded to a report from Carver High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina today after shots were fired around 2:30 p.m. The suspect is now in custody and officials have reported at least one person was taken to the hospital and the school was placed on lockdown. No further information has been released and a press conference is scheduled for later today.
Dave Chappell walked off the stage of Thursday night’s Funny or Die Oddball Comedy & Oddball Festival in Hartford, Conn. after some audience members became too noisy.
Chappell first stopped mid show and lectured the audience, before walking off the stage completely.
NBA player, Lamar Odom was pulled over and arrested early Friday Morning on suspicion of DUI charges in Los Angeles.
Odom was held in jail for 3 1/2 hours and released on $1,5000 bond. Odom was pulled over on the 101 freeway after California Highway patrol spotted him driving recklessly in his Mercedes SUV. Odom is expected back in court on Sept. 27.
74-year-old poet, Seamus Heaney was pronounced dead today after his family released a statement saying, he died from illness in his Dublin home. The Irish poet was born on April 13, 1939 in the western part of Northern Ireland. Heaney was not only a Nobel peace prizewinner, but widely known by many and highly regarded by fellow poets.
Miley Cyrus is receiving criticism from all over for her performance at last Sunday’s VMAs, but now even Steve Chemlar, inventor of the first ever foam finger prototype is calling her performance degrading to the sporting event icon, “She took an honorable icon that is seen in sporting venues everywhere and degraded it.” Despite Cyrus’ suggestive performance, Chemlar believes the foam finger has been around long enough to survive the embarrassment.
