Professional ballroom dancer Kym Johnson is leaving the ABC show Dancing with the Stars after 14 seasons.
The Daily News reports that she will not be returning for the 17th season of the show. Johnson accepted an “amazing work opportunity” in her native Australia, but didn't share much information about it. "I am excited, nervous and humbled by this chance and look forward to sharing more about it with you soon."
However, US Weekly reports that she may be back for season 18.
"I wish all the dancers and celebrities in season 17 nothing but love and success," Johnson said, "and hope to see you all back on the dance floor for season 18."
The 37-year-old first participated in the Australian DWTS in 2004 and later joined the USA competitive show in 2006 for season 3. Johnson won two Mirror Balls, accompanied by Donny Osmond in 2009 and Hines Ward in 2011.
According to the Daily News, Johnson's departure could bring back professional ballroom dancer Chelsie Hightower, who took a break from the show last season.
