David Arquette has admitted to relapsing after over two years of maintaining sobriety. The actor said he’s been drinking again and even smoking some marijuana.

On Tuesday, he told Howard Stern about his relapse. Arquette spent about a month in rehab in 2011 shortly after his separation from wife of 11 years, Courteney Cox. He said the former Friends star, whom he co-parents their daughter Coco with, is being “super cool” about it and helping him through it.

“My problem with being honest with you and talking to you is that people are going to take all this and just be cruel with it," Arquette told Stern, E! Online reports.

Stern asked Arquette that since he’s drinking again, if he’s also smoking again, and he answered, “Yeah, I'll smoke a little weed. I don't really want to get into all that, because the problem is people are going to take this and start talking about it."

He added, “I'd been sober for two years and four months and feeling that I wasn't being that true to myself, like what I enjoy and this and that.”

Before he went to rehab and got sober, he told his longtime friend, Stern, in 2010, that he had been drinking because he was “heartbroken,” USA Today reports.
